toyotech358-

You may want to take your coach to a scale and weigh it before considering adding the tank.

The brochure I downloaded says the UVW (Unloaded Vehicle Weight) is 11,900 pounds and the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) is 14,500 pounds. As built, everything you carry has to weigh, in total, less than 2,600 pounds.

And your UVW has changed since you made modifications.

Forty gallons of water weighs about 320 pounds. As it is now, a full fresh water tank and half-full grey and black water tanks (at 39 gallons each) takes up about 650 pounds of your carrying capacity.

toyotech,

As long as the weights are good, this should work fine. I added a 20 gal secondary water tank to mine. Put in a 3 way valve in my plumbing bay so I can select where I want the water drawn from.

I had a 5th wheel and it had a outside door to the storage area under the dinette seats. I added a approx. 40 gal tank and attached a hose. I would fill the tank with the hose, then cap it off and clip the hose slightly above the top of the tank. I added a T to the drain at the bottom of my fresh water tank.

When I got low on the main tank I would connect the hose from the secondary tank to the connection at the bottom of the fresh tank, open the drain valve on the fresh tank and gravity would fill the fresh...

Worked perfect and it didn't modify the trailer really at all ( minus the weight ).
