Adding another house battery?

Question on adding another house battery.
Is it just as simple as connecting it in parallel with the existing battery?
Is the present charging system ample for the extra battery?

Thanks,

Yes and probably. It may take longer to charge but should work fine.

I am by no means an expert but you should be able to connect in parallel without issue. Just make sure your existing battery is in real good shape.

There's some real good reading on this here:

I 'm surprised your Coachman didn't come with two, well maybe not .

Anyway, you have a minimum 45amp charger/converter, so that will handle two fine. If you do, get the same battery you have now. You don't want to mix battery kinds (deep cycle, marine, starting) or different size/capacities. If your coach wasn't new, I would suggest 2 new batteries. You don't want to mix old and new either. When you have 2 or more batteries on the same bank, you want replace them all at the same time.

Thanks folks.
The rig is brand new, it has a Worldwide NC24 in it, so I was thinking of just adding another series 24 deep cycle to it.

The NC24 is a marine combination battery, not a true deep cycle. To really do the job you should have 2 real 6 volt deep cycle batteries.
However, if you don't use them heavily then adding one more would be OK IF they are both similar in age.
