Air Compressor
I have a Class C 24' RV. I would like to carry on board an air compressor. I have done a lot of research and I have found a ton of small ac or dc compressors. Can anyone tell me which air compressor works the best for them. My tires are LT225/75R16, and I run on an average of 65 psi in the rear and 55 on the front.
Thanks,
Kevin

I bought a Wal-Mart, $39 to $49, pancake compressor for my 30ft Class C.
I threw out the springy hose and picked up a 50 ft rubber one, so I can leave the compressor in the compartment.
I start the generator and plug it into the outlet near the compartment it sits in.
I run 80 in the rear and 65 in the front on the same size tires.
Unless your planning to upgrade to a bigger Class A or DP, you don't need a fancy high pressure, high volume compressor.

I love the Viair 400p RV, it comes with everything you need to maintain the tires in a nice carrying case, https://www.amazon.com/Viair-40047-A...=viair+400p-rv. I just hook it to my house batteries under my door steps and quickly add air to my tires. I have also hooked to my chassis battery, no need to start engine, to add air. Really nice little system.

The biggest question is how much space you have. I have one of the little Harbor Freight hot dog compressors that I keep at the house for small jobs when I don't want to drag a hose out. That should work fine for your pressure. I bought one of these from Home Depot for my DP, as I need 105psi for the front:
The Husky compressor fits in a basement storage bin and only takes up a space about 8" wide. There's a 110 outlet right above the bin.
With either one, for RV use, I'd replace the little regulator with a brass street elbow. That points the quick disconnect toward the front of the tank.

This is a Porter Cable 150 psi compressor, got it from Amazon. With 150 psi it will air up anything you need. Comes with hose and several small accessories, compact and only about 20 lbs. Probably the best compact compressor I've ever owned.

Thanks to all who responded....
It looks like I will be leaning toward the PORTER-CABLE CMB15 150 PSI 1.5 Gallon (cost and performance ratings). Thank you all.

I have the same as the Porter Cable, but (no longer) sold by Sears. It has no problem airing up my 22.5 inch tires.

Another VAir user. Easy to use off the house battery and quickly tops off tires to 80 PSI in a very small easily packed size.

I've been using a JNCAir 1700 for a couple years now in my car, and just move it over to the RV when we use it. It will not run air tools, but will put 80 pounds in the rear duals, you just need to estimate the pressure as the gauge only goes to 60 PSI. I did replace the clip on chuck with a straight foot dual chuck. Two years in I replaced the air line as it cracked, but that's more likely from cooking in the back of my car in Florida heat. The unit will charge with a normal extension cord, no wall charger, or with the included 12 volt male/male cord, or just from clamping on the battery terminals whilst the engine is running.

I went to Sears Outlet store and bought a no name little tank compressor that puts out 125 PSI for $39.99. It has no issue filling tires to 100psi cold. Have used it for a year so far with no problems.
