I’ve had a problem with mice getting into the heating/AC ductwork on the Chevy Express van part of my rig while it’s not in use. When the heat or AC in the cab was turned on all you could smell was mouse pee. I tried flushing the cowl area with a bleach solution, Simple Green, Lysol and a bunch of other cleaners. It would cut down the smell but it wouldn’t take it all away. I finally decided to take things apart to clean it all and see if there was a way to block the mice from getting in. Figured I would pass this along in case anyone else needed to deal with the problem. I made a video of what I found and what I did. I apologize for the amateur quality of the video, I made it with my phone.

No help for your problem but I caught this guy with sticky trap. As you can see, he ate thru the yellow wire. As I looked at him, he had the nerve to start biting the green wire.

I had mice fill up the heater blower motor in my truck with dog kibble they were stealing from the dogs dish. Had to replace it. [emoji2959]

I see that and raise you one. 2019 Kia Stinger, check engine light came on. No biggie, had the dealership check it and sure enough a mouse had chewed a sensor wire at the sensor. Oops that chewed wire was at the sensor on top of the transmission. Had to pull the engine to change the sensor. 5k later....... insurance covered it all.

Now it is parked in a mouse proof shop with the RV. I live in the country so I will never eradicate the little buggers but I sure can make it difficult for them.

We've had only one RV mouse problem on an RV trip years ago ... but I think that one time we brought the little bugger with us from home.

Between trips when the RV is sitting in the back yard we now have the ultimate solution to any RV mouse problems ... three(3) cats running around in our back yard.

Don't know how well it works but you can try putting a bar of Irish Mist hand soap in the compartments. I've been putting it in my basement compartments for a few years, I catch mice in traps outside the RV but haven't had any inside since I started the Irish Mist. Might be worth a try - supposedly they don't like the smell.

When cleaning a birdhouse near our feeder pole a bunch of mice came racing out.
So I took a five gallon pail, drilled two holes 180 degrees apart about 3" below the rim, took a plastic pint bottle and drilled a hole thru the cap and also thru the bottom. Then cut a 3/16" diameter steel rod long enough to stick out both sides of the pail. I slid the rod thru one side of the pail, slid the bottle on to the rod, then slid the rod thru the other side of the pail. I then proceeded to coat the plastic bottle with old peanut butter and a few sunflower seeds.
I took an old wood railing spindle and cut a notch near one end so the spindle would lean on the pail lid without falling down when the mice raced up the ramp.
Put 4" of water in the pail. Because our pail sits outside I took a 5 gallon planter pot and cut the sides off about 1" up from the bottom. I then fastened two small pieces of wood (180 degrees apart) near the top of the pail. One side has a hinge from the wood to the new "lid". The other side I drilled a hole thru the "lid" into the wood. Then used a deck screw to hold the lid on.
The mouse jumps onto the bottle, the bottle spins, the mouse drops into the water. The mouse tires of swimming and drowns.
So far 14 mice--oops 15 mice--got another one in the pail this morning.

I put Irish Spring soap all over the inside of the RV. Little bas#$5ds ATE IT! I opened a compartment and you could see where they ate the corner off the bar with tooth marks in it.

The other thing to think about - where I live it's not a problem - but if you live somewhere that has a snake problem it wouldn't be difficult for a snake to find their way into that opening too. They could be chasing a mouse or just looking for a home. I would believe that chipmunks and bees/wasps could easily find their way into the area also.
