Anyone Using a Wix Air Filter On An Onan 4000 ?

Local auto parts store has the Wix 42302 air filter which looks like a cross over for an Onan Microlite 4000 generator, 4KY FA26100A. Onan part number
140-2852 on the label. Any reason not to use the wix air filter ?

Thanks

If it meets the specifications of the Onan original, why not? Just check that it is equal to the original equipment.

Thanks for the reply,
All they tell you it matches the original Onan part number but that's it. All the Wix filters I have used have been top quality and made in the USA

Is the generator still under Onan warranty? If not, use the Wix.

Thanks again.
It's a 2000 model so no warranty issue. I would rather change the air filter more frequently and the wix are easy to get,

Generator has 356 hours on it and seems to run very well.
Going to switch to Amsoil four stroke synthetic small engine oil sae-30/10w-30. I run that oil in my lawnmower and Honda
3000 generator and it seems to work very well. Will also change the spark plug. Plan to change the oil every 100 hours even with the synthetic Amsoil.

After all the Huffing and puffing looks like Wix does not have a filter for the Onan at this time. It was a wrong part number and spoke to Wix today who said they will have a filter available soon. At this point will use a factory Onan filter.

When it comes to oddball air filters most mfrs. do not make their own filter. So if you were able to get a Wix it would be some other brand. Probably every filter mfr. buys that filter from the same source.
