Noise level, and lack of power on hills huge. Needs beter motor and drive train. Travel posted limits 70 when posted.

Difference being we were on all flat/minimal weight towing vs trip in the mountains towing a jeep. Also DH drove at or below 60 the entire way.

I posted earlier, but this like every other mileage thread for cars, trucks, and RV's is meaningless. There are so many variables from speed, load, terrain, temperature, traffic, aero, tire pressures, state of tune, etc. But maybe the biggest is the driver. Take several drivers, give them the same rig under the same conditions, and see the differences.

Agreed. Well said.
When we bought our class A, we knew the mileage wouldn’t be great.all we can really do is to make sure she is optimized to get us the best mileage she can. Air filter, clean MAF, good fuel, sane driving habits and a well thought out and planned route that minimizes climbing where possible.
If one wants great mileage for miles travelled, get a sailboat.
Cheers

Lived 12 years on a 46 foot sailboat, west coast, east coast and Caribbean. No matter where we wanted to go it was always into the wind, kind of like the RV. Ran the diesel about 80% of the time. With the RV we don't worry about dragging anchor when we stop for the night. RV's are expensive but boats are more expensive, at least in our case. That's just my opinion.
