Exclamation Pulley did the trick

Hello all,
Just did the pulley install. 2018 Ford V10 with 5,000 miles. Went to the Ford parts department gave them last 8 digits of vin. Number. Got the pulley and bolt for left side (when looking at engine ) . It fits on the boss on timing cover on right side. I just pushed on the belt and slipped the pulley on the boss and used some blue locktite on bolt. Same belt no more noise. My noise was between 1,800 to 2,100 RPM.
Hard to believe Ford left this pulley off. Harder to believe the mechanic at the dealer couldn't figure it out. Thanks to all for sharing their ideas. I would of figured it out sooner or later. But I might of spent alot money on things I didn't need. So people are buying engine tunes and that will not fix this problem.
Thanks again.

Ford V10 Second Pulley installed

Took my MH to Soerens Ford in Brookfield, Wisconsin. They installed that second pulley and the noise at 2100 rpm is gone. Apparently they had one before and it took quite a while to diagnose. I had the Service Manager ride with me to listen. Then I saw this forum and they agreed that was it. Looking forward to getting back on the road.

After installing the second pulley, I drove it today 200 miles, mostly secondary roads. NOT ONE instance of that darned noise.

There is also a recent thread about the adding back the 2nd IDLER on driver's side that Ford Removed on some models; the tapped hole is already there, ($15-$30/ 10-minutes) takes care of some other intermittent noise complaints at certain speeds

I've taken about 3 trips since I put the new belt on, and I just don't have that noise in mine. Because of so many people talking about it, I've tried to listen for it, but it just isn't there. I'm really curious why some of the V10s get a funny noise at 2100 RPM and some others don't. Mine is a 2010 without the second idler. I'm really wondering if some people are just putting belts on that are a little bit too long? They did make some changes around January of 2010, and I even took off my old belt to measure it to make sure I got the right one.

Hopefully you continue to be noise-free.

It took a while, and some hot weather, before my noise came back after changing the belt.

What's the date of your engine and which belt did you put on? If it's before January 26th 2010, it should have the 99 and 1/2 inch belt.

My chassis is 2016.

The belt I replaced the original belt with (and is still on) was Gates K060997HD.
