Bumper advice needed
2007 Coach House 27xls w Ford 450
I made a miscalculation and tore the rear bumper off pulling away from gas pumps. For a replacement, would I need a bumper for a Ford or specifically for a Coach House? Any thoughts on
https://rvstoredirect.com/products/r...-steel-4429244
or https://www.amazon.com/Mount-n-Lock-.../dp/B088RKKXDV
Cost is an issue. I will also have to pay for installation.
Thank you for any opinions offered.

If the type to store a sewer hose in, then it's thin wall mild steel 4inch x 4inch with welded on brackets that bolt to the frame. You could have one made at a fabrication/welding shop.

Assuming it attaches to the rear end of the chassis frame, it would probably be something that Coach House added, so yes, and yes, it has to fit the Ford frame width. Was the frame damaged, where the bumper was mounted/attached, as well?

There are 2 brackets that used to hold the bumper.

Square tube was spot welded to those brackets. For me, that would be an easy fix. Get some thin wall square tubing, mark where the brackets go. Remove the brackets from the frame weld them on, paint and install back on the rear frame. Sat. afternoon, done. But that's me. Just need the raw steel tube.
Get the end plugs and the tube to fit them.

I don't think that would be a Ford bumper. Would contact Coach House and ask about a replacement, but I would bet any decent welding shop could make you one cheaper (and probably better) than a factory replacement. They might even be able to fix your current one, depending on how badly it was damaged.

The rear bumper was just fiberglass, as far as I could tell. More decorative than safety/functional.
I have a Valterra adjustable dump hose holder. Perhaps I will find a way to attach that and skip the bumper.

How about a piece of round PVC pipe? Threaded cap on one end and cap on other.

A Coach house is a nice rig. Putting on a makeshift bumper would surely devalue it.
Have you called Coach House and gotten a price for a new bumper? It might not be as expensive as you think. You can paint it yourself with a close match or coordinated color.

That looks like "C" channel. Most competent fab shops should be able to build one.

I have a 2020 Coach House. My husband has mad many “miscalculations” with the rear end of this hippo. The bumper is metal and held onto the back end with bolts. It is easy to adjust, I was told by the factory. When my husband succeeds in his attempts to pull our rear bumper off, I will ask the factory for a replacement first (I live about 4 hours from the factory) or get one made as others suggested. But what is it about this vehicle that the rear end gets so abused?
