Can't decide

We could make it happen with a new Class C & a toad , without any loans , I like the MW 31K . But going back & forth daily for about 2 years if we should or not ; keep reading about hundreds of the various problems people have with RVs in general . Don't want to make a regrettable decision........

Just returned from a 12 week trip in our 2017 MW 31D, 6209 miles. Not a single issue cropped up. We bought new and did work out a few issues. 4th RV didn't expect trouble free RVing, maintenance comes with the territory.

Cool No Issues

We kicked it around too, and after looking at several including new, we bought a used 2016. We’ve logged over to 4000 miles in 8 states with no issues. We weren’t quite ready to buy, but found one that fit us perfectly. Even better, the owners neede to get rid of it for a non RV related issue and we think we made a good deal and got exactly what we wanted. We didn’t settle, and have had no issues at all. Good luck! (And you aren’t getting any younger.)

We bought a Thor Quantum and had 1 1 hour warranty item. Going to factory service center February for some minor stuff. We haven't lost one minute of time.

We bought a new 25ft C. Yes there were some issues including waiting for 5 extra days at a very nice park for a part to be shipped in and a 3 day stop at the factory to get lots of minor things done but after 18 months and 16K miles of trips we are very happy. Setting out on another 3 month adventure the end of January.

While we were in our 12 week tour, I participated in my 4 online RV groups. Very quiet with regard to the alleged epidemic of quality issues. Especially at Winnebago things have turned around after a bad run on slide mechanisms back 14/15.

Assembly quality could certainly be better at all makers, but few problems will really disable your coach. Chassis for Class Cs all come from reputable makers, mostly Ford and Mercedes, and are low maintenance and dependable.

We stumbled into a deal on a new Coachmen Class C one Saturday last October when we had no plan to buy, took it and have been very happy ever since. That said, if you could find the right deal on a used rig, that would probably save you enough to pay for a toad. I wouldn't hesitate to buy used.
