My Minnie's dinette seats are terrible too. Too straight backed and narrow bottom.

I suspect that all dinette seats that convert into a bed share the same problem, straight backs. When it's the only seating, it's a real pain to me.

If you dont use as a bed, you can get angle foam backs made..
I chuck a pilllow and then make it work..
most rv stuff is so so IMO.. new leather look stuff I hate.. some mega class A have nice stuff..
If I was doing a class C for me and wife, NO dinette, 2 recliners with drop tables .. lots of room..

We are looking at the Coach House 272XL FS (front sofa). Length is a major selection criteria. Must be under 27 ft overall. We already have a mid size 5th with an overall length of 50ft. We want a MH that is much smaller for some trips. There are three seating options for that slide out, sofa, dinette and 2 recliners. Most of the time it is just the two of us plus two small dogs. But sometimes we still need to sleep a third person. That rules out the recliners. Most versions of that model have another swivel seat next to the door which is comfortable.
The View 24D has a dinette plus a sofa/Murphy bed setup, that we find suitable. However, for us anything built on the Sprinter is out of consideration. Both the OCCC rating is very low and repair services in much of the west is non-existent. I wish Winnebago built the View on both the Sprinter and the E450 chassis. That would solve most of our selection problems. I am pretty picky about build quality which rules out many makes IMO.

We have a 2017 Coach House 272 with the dinette. Very convenient for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. The backs slope about 20 degrees. we find them comfortable. The recliner is also comfortable, but unless they have changed the position of the TV, it's too close. If you cook a lot, I would replace the recliner with xtra kitchen counter space. If you need to seat another person outside of the dinette, the front passenger seat swivels around is very comfortable.

Thanks for that info on the dinette seats. Due to budget issues we will buying used and ordering a new unit. I've looked at the extended kitchen cabinet vs the chair and tend to like that set up. Since that was an option, I think, not very many of those are turning up on the used market. If any knows of a used 272xl FS or FD I'd love to hear about it.

We have ordered a 271xlfd. The idea of sitting in side by side recliners did not work for us mentally. Skipping the extra seat for the extended gallery. Decided against 272 as the queen bed is (like many in the industry) just to short for a 6 footer.
We also looked at the 261 which gives you an awesome back of the coach bath but of course you pay somewhere - in smaller kitchen area.

We are not as tall as you are, so the queen bed is fine for us.
Did you consider the front sofa option as well?
Right now we prefer the front sofa, but might consider a dinette option if that seating is comfortable enough. We have a dinette in our present Minnie 22R and I find it unpleasant to sit in for any time.

We just sold our travel trailer that had the standard 2 person facing, straight-backed seating style. It was never comfortable. And even for the two of us, the table seemed a little small. Also, because of the way it sat us, only one of us had a view of the TV.
Since we're flying up to take possession of our 2021 Forester Class C (2151LE) in a couple weeks, I can't yet speak to the actual comfort of the cushions. However, we wanted to try to achieve seating that would be more comfortable and allowing both of us to view the TV. The dinette is U shaped so if TV viewing is desired, it's easier to scoot around. Also, hoping that by converting it to a sleeping configuration we could use it for lounging in the evening.
