Cold Weather Transit Ideas?

Hi Folks,
We typically try and travel in southerly directions to miss freezing temps. This year departing around January 1st and heading West (from Mid TN) we will no doubt face freezing temps crossing the plains and various passes. Other than keeping my winterized standards (no water in tanks, ect) what have others done?

Note that we drive 2006 Winnebago Aspect 26. I was considering temporarily running duct work from chassis heater to the under-bed area containing the water tank, freshwater pump and backside of water heater. I am however quite skeptical that the factory ford heater is up to blowing enough hot air while underway and this still leaves holding tanks. Any body care to share ideas?
Thank you!

I imagine running your propane house furnace and water heater would take care of winter's concerns, so well as to avoid winterizing the rig during your pass-through of cold temps. Between the two appliances, you will run through propane very quickly so be watchful of it.

Unless an Aspect is not engineered for cold temps, I imagine you could keep using all your plumbing functionality too. If you have 12V tank heaters, use them and be watchful of your house battery.

Doing as I suggest is just for a few days to get you beyond the cold.

Thanks and good ideas Ron. The Aspect 26 has no holding tank heating wires (the 23 does for some reason) or any other winter protections I can see. I can easily use pink stuff in the holding tanks, but I am concerned any other plumbing and fixtures (like outside shower and even inside shower) might be questionable. I think I am looking for the panacea that doesn't likely exist.

Having experienced an unexpected cold snap a couple of years ago and the resultant plumbing fixture failures one day before departure#@;( I am slightly gun-shy. Granted, the RV was stationary without any appliance or heaters running. I guess the big question will always be how cold is the area (passing through) as well as how long and how far between 30 AMP docking opportunities.

Thanks again Ron. Any other personal experiences or ideas welcomed.

Very simple. Leave it winterized. Carry a 5 gallon water jug or several 1 gallon jugs which are easier to use. We use this to flush the toilet, wash and make coffee, whatever. It won't hurt your tanks to have a little water in them and in all likelihood they won't freeze anyway because of the movement while going down the road. It's only going to take a couple days to get far enough south where it will be warmer. We do this every year with our fifth wheel. It's worked for the past 10 years.
