Wow, I don’t think that’s economically possible.

You could convert LP to gas
and convert gas to LP but you can’t convert to diesel
because diesel is fuel injected, and much different compression ratio……plus much heavier duty everything…..

Now if you mean throw away your current generator and buy a new diesel….then yes, you could do that….

I would imagine you would blow that block up if you got that far. There’s really nothing that can be used except some bolts.

Sell your LP generator, then buy the diesel version. As you know, plan on spending a fortune for it. I understand it is also a lot heavier.....something to be mindful with a Sprinter chassis.

Have you looked into installing a larger LP tank instead? Maybe something bigger will fit into the same space. Though surely not ideal, there are also secondary LP tanks that can be externally hooked up.

Because you have a gasoline powered motorhome your best option is to convert to a gasoline generator. I know how frustrating an LP generator can be from the standpoint of fuel consumption. Been there done that in a 5th wheel. Also had one in a truck camper that was propane. They are more reliable than gasoline because the carburetor does not get varnished from lack of use. All generators should be run under load once a month to keep the windings from absorbing moisture and the carburetor from building up varnish.
