Thumbs up Cool Diesel Toy Hauler RVs with Large Garage

I have always wanted to track down an Outlaw Class A Toy Hauler RV on the diesel Workhorse chassis but the owners never want to sell them and the manufacturer don't make them anymore. I do specialized insurance policies for rare and valuable collectibles and I tow a trailer for my office and authentication gear now. But I'm looking to use a motorized toy hauler RV's garage so I have the ability to tow a dingy also.

Well today I just ran accosts a new version of the Outlaw but these are Class C RVs. I kinda always thought this would eventually happen but what I didn't expect was a diesel engine (my preference in fuel) in a class c RV. I'm especially excited since these have a real garage that's large enough for my office equipment, desk, & gear.

Here's where I found all the RVs: RVs with A Garage | The Ultimate Motorhome!

Does anyone here own one? If so how do you like the Ford F-550 as an RV Chassis? How's the fuel economy? Does it tow well? Has any one done any additional tuning to the engine (Bully Dog,Ect.)?

It looks to be based on the same basics as the Four Winds "Super C RVs" but with a garage:

The 6.7 ford diesel is GREAT -
have had two of them and although I tuned every one of the 5 or 6 diesels I had before, I've not felt the need to do this one as stock it has 400 HP and 800 lbft !!!

and with the 6 speed manu-auto tranny it is a towing beast !

I have not had a hiccup out of either one of them
(other than the ford/microsoft SYNC Pc O Junk navigation)

Dang, now you've got ME interested in trading !!!

Pioanoman,

We have a Class A Outlaw and LOVE IT!! But you are right, the Diesel FRED was a nice option.

There is one used here: #C1599 - 2009 Damon Outlaw 3612 Toy Hauler W/Slide for sale in Alvarado TX
I am not affiliated, but it is a very nice RV so I have been watching the ad.
And there is supposed to be a FRED 3808 in IL too.

I have walked through the 35SG Super C Outlaw and was very impressed with the innovation (like 2 entries to the bath so garage traffic is reduced into the Salon). The finishes and quality were nice and not too utilitarian like some other Super C Toy Haulers.

The F550 was a beautiful truck too - quiet, smooth running, and a very important point - easy to maintain at any Ford service center.

If you get one, I hope you will share all about it

Diesel Toy Hauler RVs

Just to follow up, see one and few in love. But the dealer already sold the 2014 Outlaw 35SG one I was looking at; 2015 Outlaw Class C Toy Haulers: Class C Motorhomes by Thor Motor Coach

Now, I'm guessing that the fall has to be the best season for negotiating to purchase new, right? But then again maybe with a trade-in the return would be better in the early spring. Anyone have an opinion on when the best time of the year to buy would be ideally?

If I can pull it off yet this year I'd like to grab my snowmobiles and have a a four day weekend in Cadillac Michigan. But I don't want to pay extra if I don't have too.

I know I just purchased a new lawn tractor for 25% off, not that I can expect 25%.

Best wishes.

I like these as well, but there are a few other threads in this forum IIRC where the new owners were less than thrilled. Search the thread and I am sure you will find those entries
