Last month I was prepping for a trip and noticed that my Onan QG 400 generator wouldnít start. It usually start on first kick.
I took a look and discovered that mice had chewed through much of the wiring on the generator.
I pulled the generator and patched the separated wires. I then put it back in place.
I tried to start it and it cranked right up. But, it only ran for about 2 minutes, then quit, and gave me a 3 blink/#14 error message. I have no clue.
I pulled the plug, it looked fine. The unit canít have 19 hours on it.
Oil level is good, air filter is clean. I tried the Prime function and it seems ok. And, I havenít touched the carb linkage.
I pulled the gas line and nothing ran out. Does fuel only flow during operation? It seems like itíll run fine until the float bowl empties.
