Cummins/Onan Rodents

Folks,
Last month I was prepping for a trip and noticed that my Onan QG 400 generator wouldn’t start. It usually start on first kick.
I took a look and discovered that mice had chewed through much of the wiring on the generator.
I pulled the generator and patched the separated wires. I then put it back in place.
I tried to start it and it cranked right up. But, it only ran for about 2 minutes, then quit, and gave me a 3 blink/#14 error message. I have no clue.
I pulled the plug, it looked fine. The unit can’t have 19 hours on it.
Oil level is good, air filter is clean. I tried the Prime function and it seems ok. And, I haven’t touched the carb linkage.
I pulled the gas line and nothing ran out. Does fuel only flow during operation? It seems like it’ll run fine until the float bowl empties.

Thoughts?
Jack

It would be helpful to add the information about your rig into your signature block.
- Does your rig have less than or about 1/4 tank of fuel? generator fuel line pickup tube is raised from the bottom of the fuel tank and will stop pulling fuel at approximately 1/4 tank
- Head over to the Onan Cummins website and grab the manual https://www.cummins.com/rv-generator-manuals
