Dash radio and backup camera

On my 2007 Winnebago 29B the backup camera (voyager) is very dim and also very small. There seems to be many options available on the internet including wireless. Wondering if anyone has recommendations for a replacement. Also how is it held in that little box it's in?

The dash radio is not good and I need to replace it. Same question - recommendations?

I put a 9 inch monitor on my dash, held in place with magnets. The padding isn't very thick, so the magnets hold it just fine.

Most likely you can use the existing camera and wires.

I usually have to tilt it down if I drive at night because it's too bright!

Loads of choices for radios out there, so you will just have to have a look and decide what you want.

Happy Glamping.

Our 2007 Phoenix Cruiser included a 5" back-up camera monitor. More recently the company has been installing an aftermarket radio (not from Ford) which includes the monitor functionality. I hear often how the radio version inside the Ford E350/E450 has issues of sorts that include....

- The radio does not face the driver adequately for use as a back-up camera, which includes unwanted reflections.
- There are software issues of sorts, more often related to software updates.

After some customer complaints, the company switched radio brands and the complaints have been reduced.

Back to my 5" monitor....
It was originally mounted in the headliner, set too far back for convenient viewing. But my biggest complaint was that I hit my head on it often when going into the house from the driver seat.

I relocated the monitor from the headliner to the center mirror position. My center mirror was useless anyway so there was no loss in giving it up. Since the relocation, I turn on the monitor when I drive and use the system as my rear view mirror. I also mounted a Scan Gauge-II above it with Velcro. You can see the wiring from both go directly up behind the headliner.

I used a mounting kit EXACTLY LIKE THIS ONE ON EBAY and it works perfectly. I made the change some years ago so I have much time with this setup and I still love it. After the picture below was taken, I turned the monitor to face the driver much better.

Look closely and you can see where the monitor was originally mounted in the headliner between the sun visors.

I had the bad experience with the radio camera in Minnie- junk.

Replaced with a Rear View Safety 7” camera monitor, wireless. Works great mounted the monitor where center mirror had been. Tied it to the running lights and used the factory camera cable for power. Still looking for a radio.
