Door entry latch

I have a 2003 Minnie that the door won't open from the outside when you pull the handle. I have had to crawl through the cab and open it from the inside. Once open the latch seams to work good,. It seams to be slipping when pulled.

I had the same thing happen on my 2008 discovery.. 11:00 at night and 8 degrees and the door won't open.. I first thought it was frozen .. had to climb through window.. thank God we had a window unlocked.. I think that should be 101 .. always leave away in.. anyway it happened several times in a row.. climb through window twice in one day!! Enough is enough.. I took latch apart there is a lever that get worn or bent over time.. bend it back up with a pair of pliers... that seems to have worked for me..not sure on a Minnie.. I found a link on google.. it's not the first nor the last ... good luck ..
