Driving to DC then To Kentucky need help

My father is gravely ill and I am driving a class c RV which I am renting tomorrow. I am traveling from Boston to Washington DC to pick up my son and then on to Kentucky. We plan on stopping outside of DC somewhere. Any helpful hints would be appreciated. Can you take this over the GW bridge in New York? Thank you for your help.

I previously had a 40 foot diesel pusher and with tow car crossed the GW bridge without problem other than a little heavy traffic. Cherry Hill Park is just north of DC and it is a pretty nice commercial RV park, We often stayed at the Greenbelt National Park also just north of DC. Dry camping only. (It might be closed because of the virus)

Call a Camp Ground first because I'm not sure Maryland lifted the 14 night stay. Virginia lifted theirs so you can stay 1 night.

Driving to DC then To Kentucky need help

I live about an hour north of Baltimore and used to drive to Boston each week. I took I-95 only one time. Never again. I would take I-84 to I-81 and frankly, I’d just stay on I-81 and bypass all the city traffic. I used to drive to S.C. each week too and the traffic on 95 is murder until you get passed Richmond. If you really want to go to DC, get off I-81 onto I-83.

So sorry to hear about your father. Where in Kentucky are you going? Touch back here when you get a chance and let us know how it is going, OK?
