Ebike rack between rv and towed vehicle?
Is there such a thing as a bike rack that can be mounted on the tow bar/hitch to carry one ebike weighing 80 pounds between the rv and the towed vehicle? I have a sunseeker 2800 with no bumper, roadmaster sterling tow bar, and a 2017 jeep GC.
If anyone knows of a source please help me out, I am open to suggestions. I do not want to add a hitch behind the Jeep.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.

The problem with that is you will likely need to also have a hitch extension to be sure the TOAD will clear the Bike. In my view using a hitch extension is risky. I did exactly what you what with a bike rack for four standard bikes. The total weight of the bikes with the rack was about 200#, well within the supposed 500# tong weight capacity of a 5000# rated hitch. The problem was that the 200# with the extension with the toad was too much for the Class 3 5000# hitch. It ended up bending the frame and the hitch. After that I just carried the bikes on the hitch mounted on the TOAD.

They sell front mount class 3 hitches for E350/450s. I used on with a cargo carrier to carry 2 E Bikes.
I built my own for my class A and it's great.

I bought one of these from A mazon. It has 10,000# capacity and I did not need to use a hitch extender. I tow a Wrangler behind a Jayco Seneca.

I got a bike rack rated for a toad. There are a number of them out there, just put the bike rack on the back of the jeep.

Occasionally I will use my 1937 SS100 kit car for a toad. Because I usually have my Ranger with the bicycles in the box, I put my ebike on a rack between the MH and toad. I built a carrier for it that fits in a extension with a extra receiver welded on it. I turn the handlebars 90 degrees so the ebike is nice and close to the back of the MH. Works great, but it's a high lift to load the ebike.
I'll see if I can find a picture and post it later.

Here's a pic of the SS100 and ebike behind the MH. Zoom in and you can see the setup.

You'll need a double hitch receiver adapter. It slides into the motorhome hitch. The top one is for the bikes and the bottom is for the car.
If you go that route, put the bikes on the motorhome and then extend the tow bar and pivot it from one side to the other. The ends of the tow bar will need to extend beyond the bikes or, as noted, you'll need an extension in the lower receiver to move the car further away so the car does not hit the bikes in a turn. Our car would have been within 2" and going down a dip could be a problem.
You'll also need hitch clamps or anti-rattle adapters to take the slop out.
The shortest extension I could find was 7" and that extra length just made me really uncomfortable so I never went through with trying it.
I also knew we were close on the rear axle GAWR and that was another factor. Adding an extra 150 lbs that far back was not making me happy.
Now we carry the bikes and rack inside the SUV and that keeps them out if sight and protected from the weather. Definitely not as convenient, though.

I never found one, so I built one. Works great, but it is Higher than a normal rack, so that it doesn;t hit the hood of the toad. Also I use the toad hitch to carry the spare for the RV.

To the OP. I know you didn't want to place the bike rack on your JGC but I wonder why? We found it ideal to haul our bikes on the back of our TOAD (a 2006 Jeep Liberty) because it provides a lot more opportunity of use for them. We were not locked into riding them in the campground, instead, drove to various bike trails in our TOAD, then started biking from there. Doing so kept everything mechanically conventional.
The setup also allowed for the rare occasion of leaving the TOAD home and mount the bike rack on the back of the motorhome the same way, again conventionally.

That's the same as my setup. I picked up a Hollywood bike rack that supports toad use, I can move it to the 2" hitch on the RV when not towing the car or put it on the back of the car when needed.

To the OP, we like the tire on the Jeep (and bikes on the RV) better because we tend to use the rear hatch on the jeep (for firewood, etc..) , and the bikes are in the way for that configuration. I too can move the bikes to the jeep if we determine that we need to transport them someplace else (that we are not going to "bike" to), but that seems to happen seldom. I also don't remove the bikes when we get home and they stay on the RV in the garage. Just the way we roll.

I thought transporting firewood was strongly discouraged in the Midwest because of the risk of transporting invasive pests like the Emerald Ash Borer. I lost my one Ash tree that was not damaged by the 2020 Derecho because of the Ash Borer.
