I have the same lazy steps issue on my 2006 Jayco Greyhawk. I've been using the foot-assist method so far. I found earlier answers to the same question here:

Kwik Lube sold by Kwikee is a bit pricy, but several folks recommended it.

Be careful when you're messing with those steps. If you get a body part pinched in the scissors frame when it's closing, it could do some damage.

I use either BoeShield T-9 or Corrosion X , which ever I have handy . Both are anti-corrosion lubricants and waterproof .
BoeShield T-9 was developed by Boeing for the aircraft Industry and the Corrosion-X was developed for the marine environment.

One more item to lube .

The Heim Joint bearing where the actuator arm attaches to the motor . This joint has to both rotate and swivel freely .

I suggest lubing the joint in both the Spring and Fall.
The joint is mounted horizontally so it can collect water and road grime and grit .
Clean it with either Brake Cleaner or Carburetor Cleaner , let it air dry and then spray the lube .
