For less than $10 you can buy an outlet tester to plug into your house's outlet. That will tell you if the plug is wired right. Another $20 will get you a meter to measure the voltages on the plug for good measure. What happens if you plug a lamp or hair dryer into that outlet?
Not clear to me if the breaker box with the fried wires was in your stick house or the RV.
