Forester 2251LE Steering damper

Just purchase a 2018 Forester 2251LE with 12500 miles! On the way home we almost got sea sick from dancing with semi's on the road! I believe we might need some attention to the front end!!! I heard stabilizer bar & steering damper! What worked for you?

So the comments will be relevant to YOUR chassis, please tell us what chassis you have.

Also any suspension mods you have made.

Tire PSI front and back.

Thanks.

Forester 2251LE Steering damper

I used Roadmaster sway bars front and rear, a Roadmaster steering stabilizer and new Bilstein shocks on my 2015 2801QS Ford E-450.
It already had the Ride Rite airbags that I usually run at about 70lbs.
Plus a new set of Michelin Crossclimates.
I have no issues with how it handles now.

Steering on 4500

I have the 2250 on the chev 4500 I had the same issue. I was afraid to drive on the hiway. had front end alignment checked. It was in spec. Installed a safety plus steering stableizer. It made a world of difference. It handles almost as good as my 2019 gmc 4500 duel wheel. Hi winds still push me around but that is the nature of a box on wheels. Big trucks not a issue. Just watch them and be ready for the push and pull. It was a bear getting the safety plus centered.

The safety plus is the only mod I made. Balanced tire pressure according to what is on door post. My unit is a 2019 forestriver 2250.

Please, before you start throwing money on bolt on add-ons, take it to a truck shop and get the alignment checked.
When they build these things, the chassis gets shipped to the manufacturer with the default specs for a cutaway chassis. They don't know what the builder is going to put on it or how big it is or much it weighs.
So get the alignment checked, get the rig weighed, and consult the tire manufacturer's weight charts to make sure you're at the proper pressures.
Then, if it still needs improvement, do some research on how to improve handling.
You might save yourself a ton of money. We did.
