Question Furnace Motor Replacement Help

I'm trying to replace the fan motor in my furnace on my '94 class C. A critical step is to remove the exhaust vent. There are several YouTube videos on how to do this, including one that's my exact model of furnace. I loosen the wing nut, and it should pull right off. It doesn't budge.

I managed to get the old motor out, but there's no way I can get the new one on without being able to access the fan on the exhaust side. What am I missing? How the heck do I get this exhaust fan off?

Attached photo so you know what I mean by "exhaust vent," I don't know if that's what the part is actually called but that's what the videos call it.

TIA!

I wiggled, jiggled, shook, twisted, and pulled as much as I could, but the thing wouldn't budge.

I was able to get the exhaust fan on the motor though. It would have been easier if I had 10in long fingers with 6 knuckles each, but I got it on and invented some new swear words along the way. The furnace works now, hooray! It is loud though, loud like a loud motor, not screeching and blowing the breaker like it was before, but I have a nagging feeling I didn't get it on there correctly and I'll have to do the whole thing over again.
