Well just bought a 2021 BT Crusier 5240 with the 7.3 and driving it back from Salt Lake city to Las Vegas while flat towing a 4000 pound Tacoma it was nearly 10 mpg and the weather was mostly windy.

I suspect it could do 11 mpg not flat towing 62 mph in good weather, maybe 12 if I drive 55..

the 7.3 with the 6 speed was great, it stayed in 6th gear 95 percent of the time..

Great that you are getting 10 mpg!

Now how many smiles/gallon is the important thing.

Many smiles now, I am 50 percent better MPG vs my class A plus driver/passenger door and 2 airbags for safety..

The 7.3 with the 6 speed rocks..

Thanks for the report!
The 7.3 just moved to the top of my list.
Is the V8 more quiet than the V10?
Keep us updated.

9-10 average 65 mph. 10-11 on flat land 65 mph.

I just drove back from Key West to NC. 2015 Fleetwood Flair 26D V10 towing a 2012 CRV. Did a little test. First fill up, I clicked off the cruise control on all the overpasses and hills keeping the transmission from shifting down. Got 7.5 by dividing miles by the gallon fill up. Next time just let the cruise control downshift as needed. Increased by 1 mile per gallon. I personally don’t like to hear the engine revving up. Kept cruise at 65.

Basically anywhere between 7 and 11 mpg. If all depends on several things...terrain, head wind or tail wind and speed.

Yes it is more quiet, the motor never got over 4000 rpms in the hills flat towing my Tacoma, but my comparison is from a class A V-10 to a Class B+ V-8
[ note not very big climbs from Salt Lake to Vegas, will have to see what she does in the Rockies ]

Most the time it was in the mid 2000 rpm's, best part is it stayed in 6th gear most the time, couple times in 5th and only once in 4th from Salt Lake city to Las Vegas..

That is 14,000 lbs, [10,000 lbs RV + 4000 lbs Tacoma], the V-8 just lugged along in 6th gear at around 2200 rpm's on the flat areas and even slight incline, it acted as if it was never working hard.

Ford got this right, I just hope its a good motor without any issues down the road..
