Hidden fuses on Coachmen e450 class C

*I found 2 hidden fuses under the driver side door step. On our 2017 311FS Class C on E450 chassis. I emailed Jason Johnson at Coachmen to find out what they are for, and here is his response.

They are 5 amp fuses. One is for your heated mirrors and the other one is for the house battery charge while driving down the road… If your house battery is not charging off the alternator while driving this fuse is normally blown….

Was the fuse location ; noted in the coach owners manual ?

If it wasn't ; I'd sending nasty grams to the manufacturer , asking " Why not ? ".

To be Honest I never thought about looking in the owners manuals. I guess I need to add that to my reading material in my reading room.

I never would have about looking there for any fuses, or other owner serviceable items.
I have never had that stepwell cover off mine.
I did remove the one on the passenger side to route wires from the house batteries to a fuse panel that I mounted on the side of the passenger seat base. That feeds a few extra 12v circuits in the MH, fuses are easily accessible.

Thumbs up Coachman 2019 Leprechaun E450 311FS

When I first purchased my 2019 Leprechaun (new) I discovered on my first trip the house batteries were not charging as I drove. I called Coachman and got Jason in customer service, who directed me to the drivers step panel where I discovered there was NO FUSE in the holder. Inserted one and of course solved my problem.

Yes, that's an odd place to put fuses. I just popped off the step panel on my 2010 Fleetwood Tioga, and there's no fuses under it.

They should put a sticker that says fuses located under step. I would have never known they were there had I not been running wires for something else.
