Each burner is held down with one screw. Remove it and the burner and tube can be removed.

Cleaning the plate is another matter. I scrubbed it with soap and water, then dried it. If you leave water on it it will rust (more than it already has). I ended up using Nevr-Dull to protect the plate further. It takes a while before the oil smell goes away, though.

If the burner ignitors are weak, you may want to have some of those parts on hand.

Bar Keepers Friend works great to removing burnt on stains on stoves. But it takes elbow grease!

I would clean the burners soaked in ZEP lime/rust/calcium remover diluted 50/50 with water and don't soak them too long.

The flat could try laying down an old bath towel, then soak it with ZEP, but you may find it necessary to repaint the bottom with a high-temp silver paint marketed for grilles.

Home Depot and Menards sells ZEP by the gallon for $15.00
