In MB shop for transmission

Traveling from Florida to California to visit with grandkids. Lost cruise control at Tennessee due to front wheel sensor code. Then transmission started the rumble strip noise after that. MB read same code and they are going to replace speed sensor but I have been waiting over a week for them to test the transmission. They plan to change the fluid and check the pan for either metal particles or fluid leaks. I would like to know if anyone has done a transmission replacement. I am now six months out of warranty and trying to plan ahead with some research. I am new to this site so if you can direct me to some good threads on the rumble strip problem or transmission replacements companies that have done well for you all.

Have a look here, maybe there's something near you that can help. Maybe join Sprinter Source, too?
