Check out vanmadegear.com. They have shades that fit the Transit.

Thank you.

Appreciate your comment on maintenance. So true with a boat. Proactive maintenance ensures few if any problems. Quality also matters. From all the reading and reviews everything points to the LTV being a good product.

The one thing we have gone back and forward on is diesel or propane generator. We ordered with propane. On our boat we spent many nights on the anchor and used the generator for about 2 hours a day to make coffee, top up the batteries morning and evening, cook on the glass top stove and run the ac just to cool down when needed before bed. No inverter so dc and 120 power. You learned to mange it. Just can’t seem to find how many hours propane lasts under load and I know it is also the cooking fuel. We have one battery for starting the motors and then a number of years ago changed from two 12v house house batteries to 4 golf cart batteries in series that have worked perfectly. I liked the idea of lp being quieter and cleaner. Have added solar panels to supplement and lithium batteries. I imagine us boondocking a lot.

Lots of learning ahead.

Have a good day and enjoy the trips you have ahead this year.

I have the diesel generator, a bit pricey, but when running the A/C in 95º heat, uses 0.2 gal per hour. Also have 400w solar, so boon docking is relatively easy.

Good news for you is the new LTV's have a 2000w inverter, so a lot of things can be run briefly without using the generator.

One item with either generator is to use a Gen-Turi RV Generator Exhaust Venting System

which really makes running the generator much more pleasant and a bit quieter. Seen here at Road America.

Depends a lot on how much one boondocks, but I do this a lot at race courses I attend.

Look for a larger, multi-location dealer because they are more likely to discount a bit, and have more chassis on order that can slot in your specifics and get an earlier delivery (still a long wait tho!) Van City and Holland are a couple of examples.

Some say no discount at all. Most say in the $3-5k range. We found one who responded to my online build and order submission with a $10k discount, so I used that to obtain my final pricing with another location, same dealer. I think that's rare.

Dealer is telling us 4-5 mos. When I called the factory after we ordered it, the factory said 7-9 mos. The dealer says they can slot it in earlier to existing chassis order and do better than the factory is saying. Guess I'll find out who is closer to telling the truth.

5 years ago we had an Airstream Interstate Class B on MB Sprinter chassis. It was good, but dealing with MB is a pain in the neck as far as getting any kind of work done. I got sick of looking for diesel, no bio diesel, dealing with DEF sensors and the works. I'm looking forward to the Ford chassis w/ plain old gas.

Leisure has its own forum [Mod Edit] but participation isn't near what the irv2 gets, so I'd be interested in a dedicated one on here if anyone has an idea how to start.
Have your received your LTV Wonder, Rear Lounge? I was wondering since we ordered ours in August 2020 and are still waiting.
