Long trip coming up.

Hi all,
Wife and I are planning 1000 mi trip to around Houston, tx real soon. Round trip will be over 2000 mi. Leaving from home in northeast tn. We're hoping someone out there can help us with the best, and quickest route. Also please help with some advise on some good campgrounds between here to League city, tx. Gotta get down there to see our new grandson. Thanks for any help.

Bulls Gap TN to Houston TX
Take I-59 S to Gulfport and I-10 W to Houston.
982 miles, 14 hours, 4 minutes.

Doggy Daddy has it right. Make sure you take I-12 from Slidell,La. to Baton Rouge. Then you pick up I-10 again. There are plenty of roadside campgrounds or Walmarts if you just want somewhere to spend the night. You will only be about 30 min. from Galveston. Several nice campgrounds there.

Besides Walmart's, Cracker Barrel is RV friendly and their cooking is great. They even have an App for your cell.

Sounds like a fun trip! Unless you are under some major time constraints I would say take your time and explore as you go. Find some cool things to see and enjoy the scenery of some secondary roads if you can.

~Enjoy
