M2SRV cab carpet

Does anyone know of a vendor who sells carpet for a Freightliner M2SRV cab? I’ve got a Tiffin Allegro Bay Super C which doesn’t have any carpet in the cab and floor over the transmission gets really hot which causes a problem for my dog. I noticed that Newmar provides carpet in their Super C which is built on the M2 chassis so I’m guessing there’s no reason it can’t be done in my RV.

You have a S2RV chassis which is the same cab as the S2 and M2. Mine has the carpet as well. Not sure if it’s freightliner or the coach manufacturer that put it in.

This reply is not specific to your Super-C chassis, but it might have a viable parallel.

Like most class C motorhomes, our 2007 Phoenix Cruiser is built on a Ford E-series chassis. The chassis delivered to the RV factory, has no carpet, only a bare steel floor. It is intentional because the RV manufacture installs matching interior carpet. Unfortunately, this means there is a serious lack of floor sound deadening & insulation.

I once tried to purchase the Ford OEM floor covering for a cab & chassis version of the E-series. It is a rubber floor with a serious insulation backing. If you wonder what it looks like, just sit in an E-series U-haul truck.

Our first motorhome SEEN HERE (scroll down to see the cab floor) had the same type of insulated rubber cab floor, and we liked it.

If you like the look, maybe you can order the same type of industrial floor covering from your chassis manufacture.

I would seriously doubt any chassis are sold/ delivered to RV manufacturers with flooring covering installed.

If you look at a satellite view of a motorhome manufacturing plant, you will see many bare chassis sitting out in the weather.

True the C/Super C RV's have a cab, but it is open completely to the weather. I'm pretty sure that even the two seats are replaced by the motorhome builder.

Adding carpet with sound deadening material isn't very hard. Just you need to find a local upholstery shop that will do the work and monitor the process.

Yeah, it is awful to buy a new rig, and immediately put it into another shop to have work done that maybe the manufacturer should have done.

I've read more than one thread on these forums where the first thing the buyer did was replace the driver's seat with one used by long-haul truckers.

Visit the web site https://www.iowa80.com/interior/floo...reightliner-m2 for a starting place to look for something.

Actually, a chassis for RV builders is delivered with only a single disposable driver seat that resembles a school cafefeteria seat, no carpet, no outside mirrors, and naturally no rear wall, but that wall is not open to the environment. It is sealed with a thick pastic barrier.

The chassis is outfitted with power windows & doorlocks, a/c, a high output alternator, two different antenna lengths, the shorter one to clear the overhang of a class C bed, and other creature comforts for RVing. Seats, radio, and a few other items are optional.

I think this particular chassis is for commercial applications, given it has outside mirrors and is also appears to have the rubber floor covering.

Note the lack of outside mirrors on this one.

The carpet in our Newmar Superstar was supplied loose like a throw rug. Maybe a Superstar dealer can help? It probably won't be cheap but if the colors are close, it might be worth it.
