First, I have a 2015 FR Sunseeker with a F 450 and it has around 44,000 miles. My husband passed away 6 months ago, so now I am in charge of taking care of things I never had to before. Before he passed, he had told me it would need an oil change, tune up, and transmission "flush" this spring. I called our local Ford dealer to get a rough est of what that might cost. I was told it would cost around $2100 YIKES! I've read on line that a trans flush might not be a good idea? I know it needs the oil change, but if it is running well which items are most important to the maintenance. I've looked at the owners manual, but much of it is "greek" to me. Any suggestions/help would be much appreciated. Thank you!
At 7 years, 44,000 miles, I don't see any need for a "tune up" unless you have symptoms or check engine light on.
Transmission fluid CHANGE (NOT flush) a good idea.
Engine oil and filter change also a good idea.
I would add brake fluid flush if not done in the last 3 years.
And coolant change if original (7 years old)
Should be less than 20% of your estimate.
