Map/courtesy lights

This turns out to be not a big issue but more of an annoyance as I expect small things to work when I buy something new. I have 2021 Entegra Odyssey on Ford E450 chassis. The map/courtesy lamps above both driver and passenger doors do not come on when you open the door or push the button on the light, either one.. Never have. I have found several posts with the same issue, only two that had a fix. One was bad bulbs from the factory. I have checked the bulbs with multimeter, they are OK. The other fix was burned out fuse. The owners manual shows both engine compartment and passenger compartment fuse numbers and specifications. There is no mention in either list of a fuse that controls any interior lamps so I have no idea what fuse to check. Any ideas?

What is fuse number 8 (15 amp) in the inside fuse box?

It is listed as this for E350s:

8 15 Anti-theft indicator, courtesy lamp switch, dome/map lamp, illuminated entry, power mirrors, radio memory, remote keyless entry module, visor lamps

On my 2020 Jayco, those cab map lights are added by Jayco, powered by the coach battery, and fused in the coach DC fuse box, under the bed. It's fuse #11. Your Entegra may be wired similarly.

I was hoping, but that's not it either. My #11 fuse in the coach is marked overhead bunk lights, which would make sense, but everything is operational and the none of the fuse descriptions resemble anything close to those lights. Thanks anyway.

This may be a ďduhĒ comment, but as you have a two year warranty I would keep a list of the small things that need to be fixed and make an appointment when convenient to get them all addressed. Itís a pain, I know, but as you believe why should you have to address on a new unit?

I think it is not wired to the door switch, it only has power. I just tried swapping mine out for something brighter and couldn't find the third wire.

Did you try turning on the map lights with the headlight control turned all the way until it clicks? It's the same control that brightens up your instrumentation at night. Turn beyond the full bright setting to a "click". That will supply power to the map lights. Then control them with the switches on that light fixture.

Our 2007 E350 motorhome is setup that way. It thru me off at first.

Hopefully it was "operator error" all along.

Thanks, but not it either. Map lights have direct on/off button. Dash dimmers not on headlight switch.
