Call these guys - they can build to spec for dimensions, cut corners, rounder corners, hinged, etc, and can manufacture to the desired firmness.

Customer service is excellent. Iíve used them for three different rigs, and if the new Ventana didnít have a sleep number in it Iíd be buying a forth.

We bought a foam mattress at Walmart that is working out well. I wouldn't have any idea if they'd have your size or thickness, though.

We used Wal-Mart 8 or 9 inch thick memory foam mattresses in 2 RVs and our boat.

If the size wasn't right, we cut the outer cover open, trimmed the foam and closed it back up. Used a long serated knife.

Thanks for the info. We plan to try a foam topper but Iím not sure that will get the job done. Replacement may be in our future.

There are a number of companies that will make custom size foam mattresses either memory foam, or my preference Latex foam (latex feels much more like an innerspring mattress than memory foam). We recently bought a mattress from Flexus Mattress in California https://www.flexuscomfort.com/ their web site is not as fancy as some, but the mattress was nice, and arrived in a Nest brand mattress box which included a statement that they used to make mattresses for Nest and were using up their supply of boxes. Afterward I looked up Nest, they have a fancy web site, offer a similar mattress to the one I bought, with a few inferior materials (thinner pad layer, etc.) and cost about 1/3 more than I paid.

Sorry for the very late(11 months) reply. We found a mattress topper that will allow us to close the Murphy bed and is very comfortable

One thing to think about on replacing the murphy bed is there might be a strap sewing into the bed fabric to hold the mattress in place when in up mode, that is what mine has so if ever replacing the murphy you will need to note that with the bed maker..

We essentially did the same thing. CLICK HERE for details with pictures.

My class C bed is 4 inch narrower than a full size so cut down a 5 inch memory foam. It feels as comfortable as the 10 inch memory in the house. If mine were a full size I would use an air over spring like in our hide a bed. Unbelievably comfortable and light.

We use 4-inch GEL MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS TOPPERS, ordered thru Costcodotcom, ours was shipped free from MFR, and $20 cheaper than in-store. Sleep better in RV than at home usually. WE did not trim our and thus use regular Queen sheets, but read you can best trim w/ electric knife?

Weíve had good luck with toppers from Costco. I can confirm that trimming with an electric knife is very easy, the joke in our house was itís just like carving a BIG turkey.

My father recently replaced the foam on several cushions on his boat, also used an eclectic knife to cut the foam to fit. Works like a champ, just trace the pattern you need onto the foam and cut away.
