MaxxAir vs. Fantastic vs. ?? Which One?
I'm looking for a simple fan upgrade for the two stock fans that came in my Jamboree. Can I get some recommendations for a simple fan, meaning I'm not looking for automatic open and close or rain sensors or thermostats on them. Just a good fan that is reversible.*Maybe a quite one too.
Any and all recommendations appreciated.
thanks,
Craig

Both are good, MaxxAir gives you more speed options, which is helpful at the low end if you need to conserve battery power, Fantastic fans tend to be more analog in their operation, and less electronic stuff to potentially go wrong. MaxxAir seems to offer some interesting integrated vent cover models which help keeps the rain out.

Personally chose the Maxxair 4000K.
The positives features for us were:
Manual hand crank
Two lift arms (we often drive with the vent slightly open)
Forward & Reverse speeds
10-speeds with PWM (pulse width modulation) to reduce amperage usage.
Very Quiet Fan operation
78° Automatic Fan-On
This fan does not come with a remote control, rain sensor or automatic closing feature. Features we did not need.

My camper has a ceiling vent without fan in the bathroom not directly over the shower. Have any of y'all heard of problems with vent fans in shower area 'cause of humidity/steam?

MaxxAir. They're both effective, but a few years ago Fantastic switched to a flatter pancake style motor that makes a very unpleasant high pitch whine. Heng's are also effective, but use a very similar motor to the Fantastic.

I just put in two new MaxxAir fans and I love them. They’re fancy.

I switched from Fantastic Fan to Maxxair a few years ago for the sole reason of getting the integrated cover. The integrated cover means it can be used in the rain, but when we're pulling into a campground it doesn't stick up nearly as tall and doesn't catch branches and such like the shroud that we kept on our FF.

Max air now on two different rigs. Love the remote, wife is shorter, and integrated cover.
Enjoy the journey

Maxxair. Ten times quieter than the fantastic fan.

I just installed maxair 4500 and I have a fantastic in my bathroom. Day and night difference in the Maxair is a much better product. It is quiet and works ten times better. Wish I had gone with them in the Bathroom. The fantastic is really annoying and noisy. Only has three speeds versus 10 for the Maxair.

Thanks for all the responses. A quite fan is also important to us. So it looks like a Maxx Air purchase is in the future.
Thanks Again,
Craig

I have had a very good experience with the Heng vortex fan shown on one of the previous posts. It mounts in the existing opening from the inside. It has 3 exhaust speeds and 2 intake speeds. It’s not as nice a fan as the max or fantastic. But the low cost and ease of installation make it worthy of consideration. I have used it for about 2 years with no issues. There is a you tube video on the install that is informative.
