Microlite 4000 Removal?

I have a 1998 Minnie Winnie 24' and the starter in the generator is not engaging the flywheel (you can hear it whirring). I have read that the generator can be pivoted downward to get at the starter in the back. Does anyone out there know if that's true, and if so I'd like to know where to find the bolts that need to be removed. Or, if somebody has a manual that would help.
Thanks.....

I downloaded the manual for the Microlite 4000 here (and had it printed and bound at Office Max for future reference).

I believe you are referring to a manual on the actual removal from your specific coach though? About a year ago, I read an article somewhere re how to remove the genny from mine (I suspected a weak magneto ...... still do) and I recall that it was all pretty intuitive and standard fare...... e.g., remove power and cover the 12v cable end, remove the controller, remove the muffler, remove and plug the fuel line, etc. I have read where one of those 500lb hydraulic table carts from Harbor Freight really works slick to lower the genny and scoot it out from under ............if you end up having to do that. The Microlite 4000 weighs about 175 lb, IIRC.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. Hopefully, someone with your model coach will chime in.

Good luck with the repair................. ed s

Thanks

Thanks for getting back to me and I think I already suspected that I was kind've on my own with this issue. The manual is helpful as it gives me an idea where to look for the important mounting bolts as well electrical that needs to be disconnected. I bought the RV knowing that the generator was an issue, but the price made it worth it anyway.
I have owned boats and RV's and the boats were holes in the water I poured money into...This repair is doable and as I have a small portable gen. from my last RV I still have electrical power if I need it.....BC
