Morryde after market E450?
Greetings,
Has anyone added the Morryde system to their E450? We are looking into every reasonable solution to the hard hitting rear end of our class C. Our 2600 mile trip last week had us flinching on every big bump before it was over.
We love the convenience of our 23 foot coach, but sure miss the ride of our 35 foot A on the F53 chasis.

Try add on air bags like Firestone. They came on ours and I put them on my pickup.

The air springs on the rear will help.

Adding spring rate, with air springs, will smooth out the bumps ?
Unless your lifting the chassis off the leaf springs, your combining 2 springs.

Exactly. This is an under loaded axle, not an overloaded one. Airbags should make the issue worse.
I’m all ears for a solution—my wife and I have a rough ride in our small C, too.

I think one problem with the E450 rear suspension is travel room.
There isn't a lot of room for the axle to move up and down, so stiff springs are used limit the travel.

Just added airbags to my class C to gain additional clearance to get into my steep driveway and some more campsights.
Side effect is the ride is smoother in the rear.
Running 20 lbs pressure.

Is your class C small and underloaded? The OP's coach is 23'.

He can add the air springs and have leaves removed from the springs to reduce the harshness.

Sure, but now he needs a way to keep the correct psi in the bags. A leak could cause it to bottom out. Bottoming out the springs breaks things.

I've thought about going this route. Strangely, it doesn't seem like I can find any info about other people doing it. As twinboat mentioned, you'd have to monitor pressure all the time, but that seems doable to me.

You can get an onboard 12 volt air compressor with gauges mounted at the cab and a switch to operate the compressor.

Class C is a 24'. The rear airbags have internal jounce bumpers, so they can run with Zero Pressure without damage in case of an air leak.
The bags are useful in raising the rear a couple inches to allow me to enter my driveway and steep campsites without draging the towing hitch. It also makes leveling easier in some cases.
The ride is better, as sharp impacts are dampened. Downside is that the rear feels a little less connected, but overall it is an improvement.
I carry a little compressor so I can make adjustments as desired in different cases.

I use the Firestone air bags to adjust for load. Sometimes I tow, sometimes a Moto on the hitch.
But mine is an E350 chassi. With the E450 you could be quite over sprung causing the harsh condition.
Get it weighed and get a competent spring maker to help you with that
My air bags don’t seem to leak down much so I just check before each trip and adjust with a simple bicycle pump
