Muffler

Has anyone changed out muffler on a 31E Chateau if so what did they change to?

A Class C is built on a chassis provided by Ford or GMC most likely. Your muffler would be the same as for a similar powered van. If you provide make, year, and engine, you might receive more specific answers.

muffler

I'll redo my question I have a class C 2014 31E chateau on a ford chassis V-10 engine has anyone changed the muffler if so what brand was used?

I thought about this as well. maybe a performance Flow master. but the cab noise would be to much for the wife.

do you think it would be that loud being its as far back that it is also Ive looked but havent decided what model would fit. the muffler on mine it is twenty six inches not counting inlet and outlet flanges so its around thirty two inches total.

I think it will. but the noise will be mostly in the back. I had a older class C with glass packs. you could notice it.

I changed out my 460, went with 3" exhaust all the way, used a Walker 'free flowing ' muffler from Jegs, it was not noisy, improved mileage approx 1 MPG

The V10 does not sound all that great with a louder (performance) exhaust system. It has something to do with the way the exhaust pulses. My recommendation would be to go with the stock replacement or another quiet exhaust muffler.
