Love my F-550. It is very roomy and comfortable. No problem with the 6.7 either. If you have the chance, drive one and see for yourself.

Don't believe cab needs to come off for repairs. All the 550's I've seen you just raise the hood like any other pickup. The E450 is the one with a dog house.

I owned a 2014 Thor 33SW on a F550 chassis for 3 years. I'll post some of what I know here, but feel free to ask more questions.

Don't get a full wall slide. Although I had no more issues after Thor upgraded my slides to the 3Trax, I'm still nervous about them.

The RV weighs around 16k, and it is a hot rod. Loads of power, easy to drive very fast, very strong through the Rockies even with a 7,000 lb trailer behind it. Kind of nice to be able to take it to a Ford dealership for recalls, maintenance, warranty work, etc.

Thor's quality control is the pits. But from what I understand, this is pretty common across all brands now.

This is correct. The new Fords do not need the cab off.

Believe me, I am a current tech and have been for 35 plus years with 28 being Ford.. the cab comes off for most engine repairs on diesels. In fact we are now pulling cabs on the gas, its quicker and easier for them as well. This is why Ford never put the 6.4l or 6.7l in the E series. It's too wide and no room.. now the 650-750 would be different possibly but 550 and down we lift the cabs
The new Ford Transit body used in C class. Look under them if you want a shocker. No room to remove trans pan for even a pan gasket. There are 3 subframes. One engine, one front suspension, one for transmission. To replace pan gasket, filter, trans solenoids etc.... the trans crossmember, and the entire front suspension crossmember is removed to remove trans. Very labor intensive... but it makes a great looking coach... :-))

Thor QC is as everyone says...not the greatest. They do respond quickly to our questions and went down to work on our coach at the dealership. However, three are a lot of tiny things wrong with it and more come up each time. Luckily we expected it so we aren't upset.

The full wall slide with the new system still had an issue but it is now working perfectly.

The cab is very comfy. We kept the seat in the middle because we have a toddler that sits up there with us. I just climb over it but it is not easy for my husband.

The main complaint is the noise. The thing is loud in the cab. So loud that the bluetooth is unusable with our phone. Again, worth it to me for the Diesel.

how about the dynamic on the 550 any body got one of these and what do you think?
Is the engine noise loud as the F550 diesel?
I don't hear anybody complain about the noise in the ford or dodge diesel pickups
I may be wrong but because of the comfort and safety of the pickup style and not the E van style I think these Super C are going to be popular.
After seeing a few diesel pusher crashes, their is no protection is why I went back to a Class C and now looking to upgrade to a super C just trying to get info on which one.
