Nexus Ghost 36

Anyone have an opinion on this super C? We looked at a Renegade Verona 36 but it was just to much money for us right now. It is a very well made coach and it sure is beautiful. We like the looks and layout of the Nexus Ghost very much al.so

Don't own one but I have been on the factory tour. I was favorable impressed with the build quality, unlike a couple of others. The only reason I'm not considering one is the engine. The years I was looking at had the Navistar (International) engine and everyone I know who knows anything at all about diesels says to avoid that engine like the plague. These folks range from folks that build school buses to diesel mechanics. You might want to check that out before you plunk down your hard earned dough.

Personally I'm looking at a 2012-2016 Jayco Seneca. You might also want to consider an older Show Hauler, they;re built on semi chassis and use steel tubing for the framing unlike Renegade which I'm pretty sure uses wood.

With that motor and the I think the Allison 3000 tranny I say go for it. Even if it's the 2500 tranny that's OK too.

Last year I looked at a Nexus Ghost & Wrath at a RV show, I really like the Wrath, it just looks awesome. I tried to do some research on Nexus and didn’t find a lot and what I did find wasn’t really negative but it wasn’t really positive either. Maybe because they are a smaller shop and haven’t put out a lot of units, but the lack of info concerned me a bit. I’ve kinda moved on, but whenever I see one of their Super C I take a double take.

Before we bought our Seneca we looked at the Nexus Super C’s and I was not impressed with them at all. We scratched them off our list pretty fast. I watch several rv forums and Facebook Super C pages and lately have seen some pretty scary pics of terrible weld on frames and delaminating parts and talks of lawsuits. Also have read several times that the QC has gone downhill even more since they have gone to a dealer network. In my business that I am now retired in, I have both International and Frightliner chassis delivery trucks and leaned pretty fast to stick with Freightliner. I’ll look to see if I can find the pics I came across.

We have a 36DS. It has not been back to the dealer for any repairs since the initial purchase. We have had a number of small issues but that seems to be the norm with any new RV. As we have put miles on it, little things have come loose.

Coax from outside antenna to splitter
A glued PVC water pipe under sink had a small drip
Steering wheel not perfectly straight after Nexus installed leather wrap
Speed limiter still at 65mph not bumped up to 80ish
Some paint over spray on mirror not cleaned off
Hitch missing a couple of bolts
Power window blinds not synchronized with each other
A trim piece fell of inside of overhead cabinets

And a few other things but so far I fixed everything in driveway myself. I did go over to next to to International and they took care of speed limiter for free, Nexus was willing to pay the bill if I submitted an invoice.

I typically camp with a group of other friends that have a variety of other brands of campers. They have all had very similar issues with their new purchases.

Quality control seems to be a common problem in the industry, you can blame to mfg or you can blame the dealer for not doing a good inspection/test before delivery.

I bought a house on wheels, I'm sure if I put my current home on a trailer and zipped down the highway and hit pot holes I'd have a few more issues than I currently have.

I am overall very pleased with my Ghost, I also compared to Renegade. They too build a great product, we just preferred they layout, colors, materials in the Ghost at it's price point.

I would make the same choice again.

Here are the pictures I mentioned. This is on a 2018 Wraith, bad welds, poor cutouts, exposed wood edges, exhaust with no clamps.....that is all substandard work. Yes ALL rv have some problems, mostly minor but this is unacceptable to me. Maybe the Ghost is better but I sure would have a complete inspection done in every inch of it after seeing this kind of work.

I agree completely. We are leaning more toward the Reneade Verano 36.

I have a 2018 Nexus Wraith and don't have anything like those pics on mine. I bought it 4 weeks ago and have already put 5k miles on it. I bought it with 11k on it. ZERO issues
so far. Time will tell but it is built very well. We also looked at a few senecas with great pricing but decided against them for various reasons.

looking at a 2016 Nexus ghost 36 DS, any thoughts or comments. Dry weight was 29,900, looking to pull 5000 enclosed 8.5 x 19ft low hauler . Haulmark
looked all over for GCW sticker cant find one.
10,000 lb hitch
Durastar ran a car fax no issues except its listed as a 2015 with the vin...but i know chassis can be a different year than motorhome built year..so any thoughts

My mistake the weight is with fluids and everything not to exceed 29,900. we are pulling a mc trailer
