NeXus Super C 4x4
I became interested in this model when I found one on an auction site and contacted the factory for information. The online reviews, as limited as they are, seem to be mixed between very satisfied and "terrible paint etc". They are on an International chassis with a Duramax engine.
I'd appreciate any reliable information regarding this brand and the International with the Duramax engine in this chassis. Thank you

As I recall, in the early days there were customer complaints concerning GCWR or CCC. I know it sounds crazy, but somehow the early Super-C Nexus was lightly capable, and I wonder if it ever improved. Hopefully someone close to this subject will step in and shed better light. Maybe I am completely wrong, or maybe I was reading from people were expecting to "tow serious" or something.
In it's youth, the Nexus brand was one of the most affordable Super-Cs which was hugely attractive. If I were "Super-C Bound", I would surely look close at the Nexus brand.

I came across a video which had a couple whom settled a lawsuit with them in 2021, but their drama began in four year earlier. You are spot on Ron, their, IMHO, very large super C was almost at capacity without people and gear. The 30' Nexus 4x4 I saw at auction yesterday seemed to ride very low to the pavement. The owner is trying to get rid of it, he tows race cars, and only put 4k miles on it. He told me that the factory said it would pull 20K as he has a stack trailer with two cars. Online specs call for 15K. In speaking with the factory, they are taking on a second line of chassis for this year also.

It sounds like you are taking about the Nexus Rebel 30R. That’s their new one on the international chassis with the Chevy 5500 front 6.6L Duramax diesel. It looks like a nice, short unit. Before we bought my research seemed to suggest that their quality may have gone down a bit during the pandemic. I’ve heard anecdotally that they have fixed many of the issues, but we’re no longer in the market so I haven’t spent the time to follow up.
I certainly don’t think I’d be looking to do any actual 4x4ing in it (as opposed to a little snow driving or getting unstuck from the infield). Similarly, while they advertise a 15,000lb towing capacity, that seems to be pushing it a bit as well. If the sales rep told the prior owner it could tow 20,000lbs and he was looking to pull his stacker with it I can see how he would be disappointed.
When looking at the pickup truck based Super Cs, CCC is a major concern. This is true for all of them: Thor, Dynamax, Renegade, and Nexus. After putting a 30’+ box on the 5500 chassis you just don’t have a ton left over. The Dynamax Isata 5 28SS, Nexus Rebel 30r, and Renegade Veracruz 30VRM appear to be the exception to that rule, but all check in on the shorter side at right around 30-32’. The manufacturers build them up to and over 35’ on the same frame and that drives the CCC way down (under 1,800 on some that I saw). The low CCC combined with the somewhat awkward transition from the cab to the coach caused us focus on the S2RV and M2 based platforms.
You really need to take a little time check it out, drive it and be honest about your CCC and towing needs before making any decisions.

Thanks for the information, I did not realize that the 35 is built on the same chassis as the 30. Sounds as though that is throughout the industry if I understand you correctly. Certainly, that is a reason to stick with the 30 in my opinion.

It largely depends on year and manufacturer. There are some F600s out there, but the vast majority are on the F550 or 5500 chassises. I think Thor is making it an option on its biggest one now (but that’s close to 38’). I don’t believe Dynamax ever has in its Isata 5 line, but I could be wrong.
