Question OCCC

We are in the process of selecting a Class C RV based on the 2019 MB Sprinter 2WD DRV chassis. Most have some level of concern related to low OCCC's. Without getting into any discussion around specific brands, I have a question... Would installing an upgraded suspension, such as the Agile Off-road RIP Kit, all-terrain tires with a stronger sidewall, and upgraded brakes, such as ones from Brembo, have a practical impact of increasing the OCCC? Thanks in advance for entertaining this question!

No, or at least probably not. The OCCC is based on many, many things like axle capacity, frame strength etc. Unless you have access to all of the engineering spec and the ability to interpret said specs you would just be taking a shot in the dark. Now having said that, do folks overload their coaches and get away with it? Probably every day, it just ain't smart.

Just like you can’t change your GVW numbers or your GCWR numbers. Adding anything will reduce your OCCC. Subtracting weight (like removing the cabinets) will increase the OCCC. So pretty much you are not going to be able to change anything.

Don’t intentionally buy a coach with a problem and then try to fix it. Much better to dodge that bullet and buy an alternative model without the issue.
