Onan Generator won't start stop inside

Our 2017 Thor Motorhome Onan generator will start and stop outside but will not when using switch on panel inside.
We have new batteries and have checked all the wires that could be loose.
Any help would be appreciated.

The Onan 4000 series generators have an 8 pin connector of which 5 pins are used ...
If it the Thor cable is connected to the generator and it won't start OR stop from the inside switch I'd suspect the center pin on the start/stop switch is not getting ground. The generator itself must be grounded or the generator would NOT start outside.


A Battery Ground
B Stop (connected to ground with start/stop switch in Stop
C Start (connected to ground with start/stop switch in Start
D Not used
E +12 present when generator running (generally drives hours meter)
F Status Ind (+12 when ind. lit, flashes fault codes like Ind in switch on gen)
G Not used
H Not used

.To clarify this the generator will start and stop if I go outside and start it,
It will not start or stop from the panel inside.

The only code that shows is 8888.

There is only one battery so there no middle place to ground. :

Based on your last post you need to call a mobile RV repair person or make a service appointment at a Onan service point. You don't seem to have the minimum knowledge to troubleshoot the situation yourself. Good luck.
