Over Cab Replacement

Is there a manufacture that makes a fiberglass "replacement" cap for the front of a class C motorhome.

So instead of rebuilding the over-cab just cut away and replace.

I know...stupid question, I was just curious if such a thing exist.

Back in 2006 I considered buying a rig that hit a tree in the top front. It was being sold very cheap. I thought of doing what you are considering. After significant research, I gave up on the idea. It was near impossible to determine if any available B+ cap would fit properly......too much risk of incompatibility.

The only practical means for success would be if your class-C was also built as a B+. Then you have a much better chance for a proper fit. That assumes you can buy that exact B+ front cap so many years later.

This is somewhat akin to trying to make the fender off a Camaro fit a Mustang, it isn't going to happen. The stuff is all custom made for the RV companies or by them, and when they change designs, and run out of stock, its GONE FOREVER.

Winnebago was the best about turning the molds for plastic trim, storage doors, etc. over to a third party for storage and to custom make parts on request for customers. Three or four years ago that company had a fire and many molds were destroyed. Its hit and miss now for WBO products and I do not know if the service is still available.

Thanks for the input. You would think that this could be big business for all the RV world. Guess it is just better to have it done "custom"

There are companies that will do this....but it seems that would be expensive.

I don't need this service, I was just looking at my rig yesterday and got to thinking...what if.

Thanks again everyone
