Putting off road tires on e450 for boon docking/winter

Hi,

I have use of 600 acres of prime boon docking land but the concerned of getting my 31ft e450 Phonenx Cruiser stuck on tye access roads.

Would off road tires help? I had planned to put winter tires on it anyways, so will get either or.

Thanks,

What are the access roads like when they get wet.
14K Class C is not exactly a 'mule'

Buy a set of studded mud and snow tires.. like BF Goodrich.. widest you can get on it .. then air down... if you can fit heavy chains that is even better.. but.. be realistic.. you are not going to turn it into a baha racers.. so keep a tractor ready or friend you can call.. add big wench .. best I can come up with..
Good luck and keep us posted

I put a lift kit on mine so I could install larger All Terrain tires. Currently I'm running Sumitomo Encounter AT's in 235/85/16. The plus is that the larger tires have a higher max load capacity.

That setup will be very noisy going down the highway.

I had to smile at the “big wench” comment.

Would you put her on the front bumper?

You can get winch bumpers for the F series & a limited amount of E series rigs. While you aren't going to be 4wheelin the rig I'd still suggest that you install a minimum of a 15K lb winch. Warn makes a 16.5k lb winch and Smittybuilt makes a 15.5k & 17.5K winch.
I'd also get a pair of traction boards to carry with you.

You lifted yours for bigger tires, I lowered the front of mine. CLICK HERE for how and why.
