Rear Observation Camera - Not backup. Full time
Morning folks,
Gonna start pulling a toad. Trucker friend reminded me I will not be able to see the Jeep. So, want to get a camera that is on demand full time. Not a backup only. What have people used? Anything reasonably priced?

Thanks in advance!

I know what you mean.
I just turn on my back-up camera after starting the engine. It is no big deal.
I removed my rear view mirror, then mounted the backup camera in that position, not messing with what works well for decades now..... a cheap easy non-evasive remedy.

You can use one of these:
https://www.etrailer.com/backup-came...%20-%20Furrion
Wire it to the running lights for power.

There are "Backup" cameras and there are "rear view cameras".
Backup cameras are easy to find. Rear view cameras are rare as hen's teeth.
You will be able to see the towed in the backup camera view. You will not be able to see traffic behind your RV. The wide angle view will make any following traffic too small to see.

"Rare as hen's teeth"?
I think you meant "nearly endless cheap (Chinese) options".
Amazon rear camera search (Over 1000 items starting well under $100)
Most have front cameras and record both a front and rear video to an SD card (new files overwrite old ones, how old depends on the card size).

I have this on on my Forest River. I used 1.5” x .125” aluminum angle to make a bracket that attaches by 1” diameter stainless steel ubolts to the ladder stand-offs. I went with a 4 camera wired system from Amazon. I ran the rear video cable along the edge of the roof with hot glue followed by Dicor. Wireless camera should work fine too .
To the right of the camera is a led work light for night connect/disconnect operations.
I mounted the monitor in place of the windshield rear view mirror. There are mounts on Amazon to accomplish this.

Do you already have a backup camera that you can set to always on?

That's what I was wondering. Our Leprechaun has a option for the back-up camera that I can keep it on as I'm traveling it's great to see the toad as you're traveling.

There are wireless rear cameras, a few examples

If you have a back-up camera, you might be able to use it. My Sprinter based class C used the dash radio to show the back-up camera. I replace the crappy Axxera radio with a Kenwood. The Kenwood has an option to turn on the rear camera anytime. No problem connecting the existing rear camera to the new radio.

True, but the backup camera can "double" as a rear view camera. It is hard to judge distance to vehicle's behind me, but that is where I count on the side mirrors. It takes come getting used to, but it does work for me. One thing certain, the backup camera is great at monitoring my tow vehicle.
