Rear rack carrier for a generator?

I have a class C RV which doesn't have a generator built in. I am thinking of getting a rear rack to carry a generator. Any suggestions?
Also what is the best way to carry gasoline for the generator?
Thank you.

A container on the rack beside the generator is the safest spot BUT be aware that generators are the single most stolen items from RVers .
Visible is open to theft ; lock it or loose it.

I also do not have a built-in generator. I put a trailer hitch rack on the back and put the generator on that, along with extra fuel for it. But, as Skip426 said, lock it or lose it. A few weeks ago I was watching a yt thread and came across a post by a couple who had a generator stolen from the back of their rv while they were driving. They were in inch traffic - move an inch, stop, move an inch, stop - and the generator was only secured by a ratchet strap, not some sort of real locking mechanism, and when they stopped for fuel or something discovered that their generator was gone. My rack is secured to the rv with a locking clevis, and then the generator is secured to the rack with chain and a padlock.

Good luck.

Yes putting a generator on a rear hitch platform works well. And, having 1 or 2 gallons of fuel is also a benefit. As said above locking it down is a MUST. First get a good hitch lock to keep the platform secure. Then (what I did) have a metal strap welded to the platform that can be locked around the generator with a large padlock. If you really want to be slick get a generator (like the champion 3100) that has remote start/stop so you can just press a button to start/stop it. Have an electrician hard wire it to your motorhome and it's just like a built in model. Make sure to cover it when not in use, dirt and dust circulate around the rear area. And you'll need to cover it somehow if you want to use it when it rains. There are ways to do this also.
