Replace old TV/2004 Itasca Spirit

I have been searching through out the site for any information/guidance for suggestions and ideas on how to go about filling the hole in the front of my entertainment center. I m sure it is out there I just can't find it.
I have removed the 2000# boat anchor (old crt tv) from the front of the unit. I would like to install another tv in this area and at the same time try and use the hole for another storage area.
I am open to any and all suggestions or perhaps some direction to information where someone has already completed this project.
I do have some skills to accomplish this but would like to see and hear what other RVers have done with this space.
I thank any and all ahead of time for taking the time to read this and hopefully send guidance my way.
If needed I will upload some pics of the area in need of update.

Very best to all

JZ

I was going to suggest using a piece of 1/2" plywood, painted black, to fill in the hole. That's what I did to front and rear TV.

To use the space as a cabinet, use hinges and a latch to make the plywood into a cabinet door. The TV mount can be fastened to the cabinet door. I'd make the door inset just a bit into the present (I'm assuming) frame that was around the old TV. A couple of holes in the door allow for power cord and signal wires, leave enough slack in the antenna and other cables to swing the door open to access the storage.

Went through the same exercise with my '07 Four Winds (C or B+) with the entertainment system. Took the anchor out and then had a square hole for a rectangular TV (used a 33 inch as I recall). I had an extra 'shelf' which had the same finish as the rest of 'woodwork', so I used that to segregate a narrow (about 6" high) shelf area on the bottom. I put a DVD player there (mostly for playing CD's, but also movies). That made the whole installation look balanced. For the TV, I mounted a vertical board inside the space using two large right angle shelf brackets anchoring the shelf (base) and a piece of plywood at right angles (ie. upright). To the plywood I mounted a wall-mount hanger that you can get from any TV retailer. It simply bolts onto the back of the TV (they've actually standardized the mounts somewhat), and the anchor arm bolted onto the plywood. This mounting also had the benefit of being able to articulate or pivot outwards and to one side which allows you easier access to hook up the TV connections (power and HDTV cable). The speakers (5) attached to the surround sound DVD player.
Good luck (pm me if you want more detail)
