Replacing peeling couch on 2017 Thor Compass 23TR

So I'm posting this for a friend who owns the Class C mentioned above who is looking to replace this couch with either a leather or cloth couch to avoid a repeat of this in the future. I'm looking to see if anyone with the same model has replaced theirs and if so with what and how hard was removing the old couch? I know I've seen other post of folks that have replace theirs so I'm also looking to recommendations of where to order one. Or if there's a place near where we live in Port Charlotte Florida that might sell these other than an RV Dealer.
I did mention he could have it reupholstered but feels that the current couch is to uncomfortable. Any suggestions and insight of ordering one either on-line or through a company that carries them would be appreciated.
Thxs

Most of the RV is cheap “bonded leather”. Basically painted on or it appears to be. I will go so far as saying you will find the same in cheap home furniture stores.

You can try shop4seats.com. They offer a wide range of RV furniture. I just replaced a couple of recliners with their products. I can’t give a review as yet. Just too early to tell. Just remember you get what you pay for. If it is cheap in cost it is that for a reason.

As far as removal, RV furniture is pretty easy to remove as it usually breaks down in pieces.

We had the same problem with our couch and front seats. Our couch was a pull out bed in our Rv. We tore out the junk and replaced it with American Leather hide-a-bed. We got a cloth fabric one that is stain resistant and guarantee for 10 years. Easier to pull out into a bed and what a difference in sleep surface. It was worth the investment. The company even installed it in RV for us when it was delivered. It came apart and now fits like a glove.

Thanks for the info but was Hid-a-bed made for RVs or was it just a home sofa that fit into your space in your RV once your removed the old one? Is it secured down or just sitting in the space of the old one...How did you order the Sofa directly through their website https://www.americanleather.com/all-products/sofas/ or did you go to a local store... Near us it shows Baers and Bacon furniture stores carry their products? When I looked on their site I didn't see anything specifically for RVs looked like everything was for a home.
Thxs for the help.

I tried to find a replacement for a couch in a trailer a year ago, and found that it was an odd size that no residential couch would fit. I could not find an RV hide-a-bed that would come close either. The moral of the story is that you should take some measurements before searching for a replacement.

Last week we visited with a couple who had bought a used 5er that did not have a couch at all. They bought a couple of simple recliners from Lazy-Boy that were cheaper than an RV couch, lighter, take up less room, and are more comfortable for them.

The new rig we are looking at has a powered and heated reclining sofa. I bet it is really heavy, and so we might look for reclining chairs too.

Thanks actually my buddy has the measurements for the size of the current couch with a pull out bed. I'm helping him out since he's newbie to the RV world.

We looked as well for a RV HAB at flex steel, called various RV companies and inquired about buying a HAB or even the works for a wall bed. Would not sell us anything. So we measured the slide width, length of slide out. Am Leather has multiple sizes and shapes. Landed on size and length that fit and pulled the trigger. The best part it comes apart to fit in a 24" door. It also had 3 different mattress options. My wife could not be happier. No substitute for great comfort on the road. Happy Wife/Happy life.

What is this “Am Leather”?

My new rig has a heated and vibrating dual recliner sofa-like thing. I cannot even get the foot-rest out without AC power. Getting a hide-a-bed would be great.

It is AMERICAN Leather company. I believe located in Texas. They sell various items of furniture. Bears stores carry their products. Great furniture, and great service.
