RV Antifreeze

Well a month ago I was really concerned about the rv antifreeze freezing with the midwest cold weather we had, my filter bottle actually froze and broke BUT I /we brought the MH to our house from storage yesterday and LUCKILY everything is good and no frozen broke water lines, I was also concerned that this class C doesn't have a water tank drain and there again I was wrong, we did find it even though it is in a hell of a spot it does drain the water tank-Big thanks goes out to everyone who contributed in ideas on these problems--Now to get ready for our 6 weeks trip to Florida 30 days and counting

With that filter housing, you must make sure that both threads are dry and it won't break. Been there, done that!

When winterizing, perhaps leave the filter housing off, that way nothing can get trapped in the threads and freeze.

I remember your other thread, glad it was OK this time. Do you know what you did differently.

I should get out to check mine now it's above freezing again, hit close to -35c this winter, the pink stuff was frozen in the toilet bowl, hopefully it didn't expand as promised.

I remove the filter housing just loosten two screws and lift off I also have a short bypass hose I put in when winterizing, I remove the filter and dump the water in the housing out and put in a fresh filter in the spring.

I open all the faucets and use 50 PSI of compressed air to blow all the water out of the lines on the "city" input. I drain the water-heater manually. I drain the fresh tank an leave the tap open. I disconnect all the fittings on the water pump and let those lines drain. Put RV anti-freeze in all the traps (to get into the grey tank) and in the toilet for the black tank. I do this in the late fall, before storing the MH for 3 months. This year, I had do it all again March 1, after we came back from 2 weeks in FL as the TN weather turned cold and temps were below freezing.

I always thought that the check valve in the water pump and the toilet would trap some water. You did not say you blow those out. Do you?
