Second Battery

Greetings,

I have a 1991 Jamboree Rally RV and I have been searching on how and where I can install a second 12V House battery.

I understand the wiring part but I can't figure where to put the second battery because it has the battery in the engine compartment.

I have to chairs instead of a small sofa other wise I could put it there. I have Solar set up to charge and next step is inverter inside the cab.

If anyone has done this or can point me in the right direction I would highly appreciate it.

Thanks!!

John

Second Battery

Not sure why you need a second 12V chassis (motor) battery.

You need to put in an outside cabinet or space that is ventilated. I had an 84 Jamboree with one 12V chassis battery up by the motor and two deep-surge 6V coach batteries in a tray behind the front grill. If yours is like that maybe you can build a metal shelf there. Some Jamborees had 6V batteries built into the entry steps. Best of luck.

Thanks for Response, I wasn't as clear as I should have been. I want a second house battery and I hadn't thought of that. So it was in front of the Radiator?

Second Battery

You should have one engine battery. The coach batteries can be behind the front grill in front of radiator, or in the entry steps (look for screws) or maybe other places. Follow the cables
